Sr Business Analyst (App DevOps)

Job Description
Canadian Tire’s Digital DevOps team requires a Senior Business Analyst to work in partnership with various business and IT teams to define and deliver solutions that meet business objectives. Using Agile Scrum delivery, the Senior Business Analyst will lead the planning, eliciting, analyzing, validating and managing of requirements, business processes, high-level solution design, test case design and implementation planning and support.
The App DevOps team is focused on providing on-going functional development and 24/7 operational support for various digital platforms including in-store devices, mobile applications, web applications, and other leading edge digital mediums. This dynamic environment requires a highly organized individual with strong leadership skills, the ability to effectively communicate and a proven record of delivering quality results.
  • Work with project stakeholders to gather, track, and deliver cross-functional requirements
  • Work with the project team to scope, develop, manage and implement projects
  • Monitor, triage, prioritize and provide primary operational support for applications sustained by the App DevOps team
  • Actively participate and support resolution of priority IT issues and outages
  • Develop, communicate, and implement plans for defining requirements complete with timelines, approach, stakeholders and deliverables
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with multiple stakeholders to extract requirements using best practice methods and tools
  • Convey business requirements and design concepts with models such as gap analysis, agile user stories/use cases and prototypes
  • Bridge the gap between business and IT, ensuring common understanding and IT/Business alignment of both functional (for business needs) and non-functional requirements (quality attributes, scalability, interfaces and constraints)
  • Facilitate problem-solving discussions and general communications between the business, IT, and project team
  • Provide project management support using approved project management processes, tools and techniques
  • Support and participate in testing activities to validate both business and technical deliverables
  • Highlight for ways to inject Shopper-Tainment into our customer’s retail experience online and in store
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by information sharing and team cooperation 
  • University degree in Commerce/Business Administration, Applied/Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst role working on digital projects in an Agile environment
  • Fluent in technology and strong knowledge of project and software development methodologies/techniques
  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Solid presentation, facilitation, interview, and workshop skills
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work concurrently on multiple projects and issues under tight deadlines
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, overcome confusion, and simplify complex situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Visio
  • Experience with JIRA is an asset
  • Experience with CQ or Hybris is an asset
  • Quality assurance experience is an asset
  • Please note that availability and willingness to occasionally work outside of regular office hours, including weeknights and weekends, is required for this role.
