Red River College is seeking applications for the new Chief Information Officer position, which will provide vision and leadership to the College in all areas pertaining to enterprise technology and systems. The position will be based out of the Notre Dame campus of Red River College in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with travel to other RRC campuses as required.
 
Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Administration, and working closely with the Vice President Academic, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides vision and leadership for the strategic and tactical planning, evaluation, development, implementation and coordination of all enterprise information, technology and digital initiatives. The CIO provides a leadership role in determining policy, standards and guidelines for the acquisition, development, usage, governance and security of information technology. The role of the CIO is to be an executive leader, an integrator and a role model for collaboration across the College to enhance the use of technology to support excellence in learning and teaching. The CIO will lead the creation of a digital environment with governance policies that enables the College to use a wide range of modern technologies aligned with the RRC business strategies for the digital integration of academic, administrative and service delivery.
 
To be considered for this role, you must bring an extensive tenure of managing IT teams and budgets, and a post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and extensive experience in IT. The CIO role requires a combination of strong technical skills and experience in IT, digital and enterprise systems, as well as strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills. As RRC’s CIO, your ability to collect, synthesize and analyze information from stakeholders across College, develop robust solutions that align with RCC’s goals and objectives, and provide timely and sound strategic guidance will be imperative to your success in the role. As the ideal candidate, you will possess strong understanding and insights into the universe of digital technology and its application in post-secondary institutions, especially as it relates to the design and delivery of education and applied research, and the ability to design and deliver a robust digital roadmap. The CIO must possess a strong understanding of current trends in information technology, particularly those affecting post-secondary education, and the ability to translate those technologies into solutions that enrich RRC student experience, create operational efficiencies within the College, and support RRC’s organizational goals in the short- and long-term.
